Watertown Solar Project is a renewable energy project proposed by Samsung C&T America, on approximately 550 acres of private land located southeast of Sandusky, MI, in Watertown Township.

Solar Industry Facts
Expected to be operational in 2026, the Project will generate enough clean energy to power 20,000 homes and help meet the growing demand for renewable energy sources in Michigan and the state’s commitment to be carbon-neutral by 2040.

Benefits
Watertown Solar Project will generate over $21.1 million in new local tax revenue over the 35-year life of the project, including nearly $4.5 million during the first 5 years and create 128 new local jobs during construction for Sanilac County.
